Sashiko is a wonderful style of Embroidery which is steeped in history and comes from Japan. Way back in history when fabrics were hard to find and very expensive, we developed patchwork to make use of every scrap and the Japanese developed Sashiko where they would patch worn out garments and stitch the patch into place using beautiful stitches, adding to the layers over time. We will make a pin cushion using templates and some traditional stitches. Sashiko is simple to start and very soothing, a great way to be mindful and make something beautiful at the same time. All materials included.
