Alpaquina is made for socks, but is so beautifully soft, it can be used for many more things, especially baby clothes or snugly scarves and cowls. It can be machine washed on a gentle cycle making it very practical too.
The colours are soft and muted and the yarn cosy. Alpaca is 5 times warmer than sheep’s wool, but very light. I made some socks for a good friend (who always has cold feet) she put them on as soon as she opened the parcel, and said she was never going to take them off, as they were so warm and cosy! Sounds like she is going to enjoy wearing them as much as I enjoyed making them!
I also made a baby jumper and used less than a skein! The pattern is free. Click here.
