‘Commit to Knit’ month, September
The UK Hand Knitting Association have launched ‘Commit to Knit’.
This is an initiative to encourage knitters and crocheters to make one item for charity (can be more if you wish) during the month of September. All skill levels welcome!
UKHK are focusing on hats which will be given to the homeless and to refugees. You can find free patterns on their website for all sorts of things to knit and crochet including all skill levels (click here) and a list of charities that would love donations (click here). You can also knit for the charity of your choice.
At Craft Days we are hosting a special ‘Commit to Knit OPEN HOUSE’ on Friday September 13th 2019 from 10.00-1.00. There will be free patterns and free yarn for those wanting to make something, along with the usual refreshments. There will be people on hand to help those who are new to the crafts but who want to join in! Those attending in person on the day will be able to take part in a national draw organised by UKHK to win a box of yarny goodies.
