Shirt Making

A couple of weeks ago, I finally finished making a shirt for myself in one of our pretty 'white on white' prints. Imagine my dismay when, after it's first wash, I found a great rip around one of the lower buttonholes. I was going to add a 'fake' band down the front, but then decided to do a bit of visible mending! I found a spare piece of fabric and stitched it over the tear, using the pattern on the fabric as a guide. As you can see, once the button was put back, it became a bit of invisible mending! The stitching will support the fabric and hopefully stop it happening again! This is also a bit of Sashiko mending. We stock templates, thread, markers, needles and book.
