Fabric Inspiration this Spring…

We are very excited to see the sun shining and are starting to think of new sewing projects to start! Earlier  today a box arrived with a new collection of fabrics. To be honest, they were ordered so long ago, I had completely forgotten what was inside, but I was totally delighted with what I found…

There are 2 collections from Riley Blake.

One is designed by popular fabric blogger, Lindsay Wilkes aka ‘The Cottage Mama’ who also has free patterns (and some you can buy) in her blog posts for children’s clothes. (I think you have to sign up to her newsletter to be able to download the free ones.)
I used one to make a very cute little summer dress for my Granddaughter last year.

The fabric collection is called ‘Dainty Darling’ and has very pretty coordinating floral and geometric prints in two summery colourways, pink and aqua.

All of the fabrics are 100% cotton as are suitable for dressmaking and patchwork.

The second collection out of the box is called ‘By The Sea’ and features fabulous designs with whales, sailing boats, under sea creatures and crisp nautical stripe.
